The Bokamoso Private Hospital was initiated principally by two insurance plans (BPOMAS and Pula) and approved by the government in 2007- The two funds have provided all the equity financing for the project
- Debt financing has been secured for all remaining finance needs
- Botswana Public Officers' Medical Aid Scheme was established in 1990
- Covers government employees and their dependents
- 146,000 beneficiaries enrolled
- Pula Medical Aid Fund was established in 1991
- Covers privately employed individuals and their dependents
- 31,000 beneficiaries enrolled
Doctors At The Bokamoso Private Hospital
Employed Doctors/ Professionals- Work full time at Bokamoso facilities (inpatient and ambulatory)
- Report to a Department Chair (all of whom will be employed)
- May maintain own office, own clinic, but with a center of professional work at Bokamoso facilities.
- Work closely with other specialists at Bokamoso so that they are integrated with the hospital and other staff.
- Participate in call schedule.
- Also report to the Department Chair. Must maintain skills and responsibility for clinical quality, etc.
- Have admitting privileges at the hospital, and are credentialed to do so by the Hospital
- Report to the Department Chair, have to meet hospital medical staff requirements
- May or may not participate in call schedule
